Star-delta starters are available in Semi-Automatic (SASD) and Fully Automatic (FASD) version.

FASD Starters – The motor starts in ‘Star’ when the green button is pressed and a timer automatically performs the change over to ‘Delta’.

SASD Starters – The motor starts in ‘Star’ when the green button is pressed and the change over to ‘Delta’ when the button is released. This button must only be released when the motor reaches the normal speed.

The contactors consist of a fixed contact system with a magnetic core, solenoid coil and a moving contact system with a armature. These air break contactors are of bounce-free double break design with silver tips. Stainless Steel springs are used and contacts are thoroughly tested. The coil of the contactor provides protection during periods of under voltage. These contactors are machine wound; vacuum impregnated, baked and is tested for inter-turn short circuit.

The triple pole bimetallic thermal overload relay is of the hand-reset type. It unmistakably indicates overload. A temperature compensation device prevents the relay from being affected by variation in ambient temperature. The entire relay unit is housed in Bakelite enclosure and is accurately calibrated and individually tested on an automatic test bench. Setting can be adjusted by means of a pointer.

The coils are provided with class ‘H’ insulation and hence can withstand high temperature rise.

ON and OFF push buttons are mounted on the front cover. The OFF button which, can be latched in the pressed position from outside also acts as the reset button for hand reset in the overload relay. These starters are designed with mechanical ON-OFF indicator, which is visible through a glass window (incase of PK1 starter).

Star-Delta starters can be operated from remote ON, OFF push buttons. The fully automatic type can also be operated through limit switches, float switches, pressure switches, etc.

These starters are available in elegant sheet steel enclosures. The enclosure is dust proof and has knockouts at the top and bottom for taking conduit or screwed packing glands. Due to powder coating, the enclosure surface is highly anti-corrosive and bears smooth, elegant finish. These starters are complete with all internal wiring.
